American Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists (ASHP)

Eligibility
All Students of Pharmacy

Mission

  1. Networking with professionals and students within the field of pharmacy and closely related fields, allowing communication of information necessary to make an informed decision regarding career direction.

  2. Increase the knowledge of students about careers in pharmacy practice health systems.

  3. Improve the organizational and practice-focused leadership skills of students.

  4. Increase cooperation among pharmacy schools, ASHP Affiliated State Chapters, and ASHP in addressing the needs of students with respect to career information, leadership development, and organizational involvement.

  5. ASHP represents pharmacists who practice in hospitals, health maintenance organizations, long-term care facilities, home care, and other health care systems. The mission of pharmacists is to help people make the best use of medicines. Assisting pharmacists in fulfilling this mission is the primary objective of ASHP.

Phi Lambda Sigma - Pharmacy Leadership Society (PLS)
To promote future pharmacy leaders, who are made, not born

Eligibility
Membership is by peer recognition Applicants must also: have attained a 2.5 OPA, be an active member of APhA-ASP and be in at least
their first professional year

 

Mission

  1. To foster and recognize leaders and support leadership commitment

  2. Motivate and facilitate the acceptance of opportunities to serve in a leadership role

  3. Acknowledge leadership achievement and award membership to leaders recommended by the Society

  4. Develop and deliver programs and services to assist those who desire to serve in a leadership role

  5. Develop and deliver programs and services to sustain leadership commitment

Rho Chi - Pharmacy Honor Society

Eligibility

  1. Completion of 6 semesters towards a professional degree in pharmacy

  2. Attainment of a 3.00 QPA in both overall university and pharmacy coursework

  3. Must be in the top 20% of the class

 

Mission

Rho Chi is dedicated to a dual purpose:

  1. Our first aim is to promote the advancement of the pharmaceutical sciences and the profession of pharmacy.

  2. Our second aim is to foster good fellowship among members. and indeed among pharmacists everywhere, for it is only by organized efforts and cooperative action that our first aim can be accomplished.
