Vinay Goel
Vinay Goel, Ph.D. is an independent consultant with
more than 30 years of academic and industrial experience in a broad
range of membrane filtration and separation technologies.
Prior to becoming an independent consultant, Vinay was a senior executive
at Millipore Corporation, one of the world’s leading membrane
technology and life sciences company. He spent 29+ years at Millipore
in various technical, business and operations management positions.
For the last 20 years of his tenure at Millipore he was responsible
for Millipore’s
corporate membrane research and development. He was responsible for leading
the company’s pioneering work on novel microfiltration, ultrafiltration,
and virus filtration membrane platforms (Durapore®, Express®, Ultracel®,
Viresolve®). These membranes have now become industry standards in biopharm
applications.
Vinay has in-depth knowledge of membranes and filtration fundamentals, and
their real-world applications, especially in recombinant protein purification.
He has given numerous talks at conferences and at key biotechnology companies,
where he is a well recognized expert in filtration and separations.
Vinay received his B.Tech from Indian Institute of Technology in India and
his M.S. and Ph.D. from University of California in Los Angeles where he
did his graduate research work in the famous reverse osmosis desalination
lab under the guidance of Prof. Joseph McCutchan.
In his spare time, Vinay plays competitive tennis and is a popular sought
after doubles partner at Gordon and other Conferences
