Clinical Educator Online Training Module
The following introductory activities will introduce you to foundational aspects of our teacher preparation programs and prepare you to host a URI teacher candidate in your classroom.
By completing the tasks and reviewing the information below, you are meeting our requirement of having all clinical educators trained. This short, online training will take approximately 30 minutes to complete.
If you are hosting a student teacher, you will also be invited to an in-person training to calibrate expectations regarding the student teaching experience.
In completing the following activities, you will be introduced to:
- Commonly used terms
- Dispositional expectations of teacher candidates
- Assessment and feedback expectations of clinical educators
- Best practices in mentoring teacher candidates
- Important education initiatives and standards
