Considering a Career in Biotech? URI's Providence Program Can Prepare You …
In its 11th year the biotechnology program offered at URI’s Providence Campus provides students with BS Degree in Biotechnology equipping them to enter this rapidly growing industry upon graduation. Students may also continue their education beyond the BS degree on a part or full time basis. In fact many graduates have gone on to earn, MS, PhD or MD degrees from this program.
The program features an array of science courses taken in the student’s first year, which prepares the student for an industry internship following the fall/spring semesters. Many internships evolve into part time employment in a variety of research laboratories, which the student can benefit from during their entire course of study.
Our program is closely aligned with the bioscience industry. Students attend numerous industry symposiums and events meeting many of the key figures in the regional bioscience industry. Because this program has been so successful in matching students to industry needs, it has become very popular among a wide span of age groups. Students enter our program directly after high school or transfer from colleges within and outside of URI or return to the University for this Program after being away from an educational experience for some time.
Laboratory facilities at the Providence Campus are state of the art, faculty comes primarily from industry and small class size results in the intensive laboratory training necessary for success in this industry.
