Alpha Sigma Lambda
Epsilon Rho ChapterAlpha Sigma Lambda National Honor Society is a nonprofit organization devoted to the advancement of scholarship and to the recognition of nontraditional students continuing their higher education. The Society was established in 1945 to honor superior scholarship and leadership in adult students. To learn more about the national organization, visit the web site: http://www.alphasigmalambda.org/
The society extends an invitation for membership to all URI students who maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or better, have completed at least 30 credits (exclusive of transfer credits) and have been enrolled as a College of Continuing Education student taking courses in Providence, Middletown or Kingston.
Every year, during the months of January and February, letters of invitation are sent out to students who might be eligible for membership. If you meet the criteria mentioned above and you are also interested in becoming a member of this Honor Society, and do not receive an invitation package in the mail by February 25, 2011, please download and complete the application and intent (Data Sheet) forms, and return along with a check in the amount of $20.00 (payable to: URI Providence Campus). The required letter of a faculty member recommendation may arrive under separate cover.
Upon successful review of completed application materials, students are invited to the annual initiation ceremony at the URI Feinstein Providence Campus each Spring. Should you have any questions, please call Cessie Hernandez at 401-277-5163.
