WELCOME LETTER TO NEW MEMBERS

Welcome to the University of Rhode Island Professional Staff Association (URIPSA).

Your position is in a bargaining unit affiliated with the National Education Association of Rhode Island (NEARI).

A packet will be sent to you with the following information:

1.      A copy of the 2000 ñ 2003 Bargaining Agreement between URIPSA/NEARI and the RI Board of Governors for Higher Education

2.      List of URIPSA Officers and Area Representatives

3.      URIPSA Constitution and By-Laws. 

4.      NEARI Membership Form

5.      URIPSA Financial Statement

6.      Compensatory Time Procedures Memorandum

7.      Reduced Work Week/Work Year Memorandum of Agreement

As a member of the bargaining unit, dues will automatically be deducted from your salary as required by the General laws of Rhode Island (Sec 36-11-2).  Full time 2003-04 NEARI annual dues of $464 prorated and amortized over 26 pay periods at $17.85 per pay period, plus PSA local dues of .33% (.0033) of salary. 

When you receive your welcome packet, please review all materials in the packet sent to you and sign and return the NEARI membership form to the PSA Office in the envelope provided as soon as possible.
