Rhody Postcards: Marissa Norman ’12
Greetings from Colorado Springs! This summer, I was selected to participate in the U.S. Olympic Committee’s F.L.A.M.E. (Finding Leaders Among Minorities Everywhere) program. In Colorado Springs, I got to stay at the Olympic Training Center for four days, living the way an Olympic athlete would. I met many Olympic athletes and heard their amazing stories of struggles and victories.
Marissa is a sophomore and a member of the URI track and field team. She is a psychology major and aspires to a career as a sports psychologist.

This is me inside the Olympic Training Center just after we pulled into Colorado Springs.

The F.L.A.M.E. participants outside the Olympic Training Center.
Me with April Holmes, U.S. Paralympic gold medal sprinter.
