
Robert L. Carothers Award for Outstanding Service to the
URI Community Leadership Nomination Criteria:
Undergraduate student in a degree program currently enrolled in at least 6 credits.
Good standing with the university.
Min. 2.5 GPA semester or cumulative average of at least 2.5 either as of spring 2009 or fall 2009.
Demonstrated ability to listen, empower and inspire others toward a shared vision.
Demonstrated commitment to supporting underrepresented or less privileged individuals in society and/or the principles of social justice.
Embodies the 10 characteristics of a Servant Leader: Listening, Empathy, Healing, Awareness, Persuasion, Conceptualization, Foresight, Stewardship, Commitment to the Growth of People, Building Community.
Demonstrates a long-term commitment to making a positive and measurable impact related to a specific cause or social issue that affects the URI, RI and/or global community.
Student does not have to hold a specific leadership position at URI to be eligible for this award.
