All aquatics certifications are taught by American Red Cross-certified instructors. Please note that participation in a certification class does not guarantee certification. All skills related to the certification must be properly demonstrated (as defined by course outline) in order to receive certification.
Water Safety Instructor Course

Students who successfully complete the course will be able to teach American Red Cross swimming lessons. Absence from any of the classes will result in a failure of the course and forfeiture of the registration fee. Instructors are not permitted to make up missed material with participants. Fees: Member $225 Non-Member $255 - fee includes all textbooks, training material, and Fundamentals of Instructor Training course.
Certification Requirements: The candidate will have reading and written assignments each day of the class as well as in-water activities. Candidates must successfully complete four practice teaching assignments and score at least 80% on a written exam.
Lifeguard Training Course (Course length 31.5 hours) - Includes First & CPR

This course teaches participants the knowledge and skills needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies. The course content and activities prepare participants to recognize and respond quickly and effectively to emergencies and prevent drowning and injuries. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be certified in Lifeguarding and First Aid/CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer.
Absence from any of the classes will result in a failure of the course and forfeiture of the registration fee. Instructors are not permitted to make up missed material with participants. Lifeguard Training books and pocket masks are provided to class participants upon registration.

Participants must be able to swim 300 yards continuously, consisting of 100 yards freestyle, 100 yards breaststroke, and 100 yards mixed freestyle and breaststroke. Additionally, they must retrieve a 10 pound brick from 10 feet of water, swim the brick 20 yards back to the side of the pool, and get out of the water without using the ladder or stairs. The brick retrieval portion must be completed in 1 minute and 40 seconds.

This course trains lay responders to overcome any reluctance to act in emergency situations and to recognize and care for life-threatening respiratory or cardiac emergencies in adult, children and infants. This course also provides the lay responder with the knowledge and skills necessary in an emergency to help sustain life and to minimize pain and the consequences of injury or sudden illness until professional medical help arrives.
Fees: Member $60 Non-Member $75 - fee includes textbook and training materials.
Professional Rescuer CPR & AED Certification - Review

First-Aid Certification

This course is designed to teach participants to recognize and respond to emergencies including sudden illness, poisonings, and cold related emergencies. Additionally, participants will learn how to administer first aid care for bleeding emergencies and bone and joint injuries.
Fees: Member $45 Non-Member $50 - fee includes textbook and training materials.
