Geoffrey W. Greene, Ph.D., R.D., L.D.N. is Professor in the
Department of Nutrition and Food Sciences and Director of the Dietetic Internship at the
University of Rhode Island. He received his Ph.D. in Nutrition at the Pennsylvania
State University in 1984. He has more than fifteen years of experience in clinical
nutrition and dietary assessment as well as implementation and evaluation of dietary
behavior change interventions for chronic disease risk reduction across a variety of
populations and settings. His specific interests include dietary fat reduction,
increasing consumption of fruits and vegetables, diabetes self-management, and weight
management. He has numerous publications and has served as Principal Investigator or Co-PI
on several federally funded research grants, has been an invited speaker at national
conferences and is an active member of the Society for Nutrition Education and American
Dietetic Association.
