S. Meier, M.P.H., C.H.E.S.

Ms. Meier is
the Assistant Director, Applied Research & Development at the Cancer
Prevention Research Center. She received her Master of Public Health in
health education/behavioral science from UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson
Medical School and Rutgers University and is a Certified Health
Education Specialist. In addition to her training in health education,
Ms. Meier has 10 years of experience developing tailored interventions
for health promotion and disease prevention for special populations as
well as coordinating and supervising predoctoral students within a
multidisciplinary cancer prevention research center. Her research
interests include adolescent health, multiple behavior change in parents
and teens, breastfeeding and the development of print and multimedia
tailored cancer interventions.
Previously,
she was Coordinator for School-based Research and has extensive
experience managing large research projects utilizing complex field
settings and multimedia interventions. She has been active in the areas
of tobacco education and control as well as comprehensive school health
education in both the public and non-profit sectors. She is an active
member of the Society for Public Health Education.
