Dr. Zhang is an assistant professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Rhode Island. She received her Ph.D. degree in Economics from McGill University in 2008. She has a B.S. degree in Biomedical Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and a M.A. degree in Finance from Southwestern University of Finance and Economics. Her dissertation investigates dynamic coalition formation problems in environments with externalities. Her current interests are Game Theory, International Economics, Economic Development, and Environmental Economics. She studies coalition formation games and also applies such theory to investigate trading-bloc formation, international environmental agreement negotiation and the cooperation of financial institutions.
