SLRC Communications and Networking Center
We have recently established a special web site devoted to communications and networking among SLRC faculty, alumni and students. URI has recently replace WebCT with Sakai as its webb-based course deli every system. In addition to courses, Sakai lets us set upf special site like this one. This site will be used for making announcements, discussion of professional issues and communicating with long lost cohorts. It contains a message system, discussion forum tool and announcement tool among others. What we can do with this site is bound only by imagination.
If you are an active student of faculty member, you have been added to the site. To access it, simply go to https://sakai.uri.edu/ and log on using your 9-digid URI ID number and your URI email password. If you have not sent up your URI email, use your birth date (MMDDYYY) as a password.
Many alumni have been sent an email requesting that they set up a Sakai account. Once you have done that and log on, you will see a SLRC tab- that is our site. The email comes from postmaster@levine.uri.edu. You might have trashed it or it may have been filtered out by your junk mail filter, so check there.
If you have not been added to the site and you are an alum who wants to be included, please send me an email (rscholl@uri,edu) telling me you wish to be included. Please include the email address you would like to use for site registration.
