Welcome to the Charles T. Schmidt, Jr. Labor Research Center (SLRC) at the University of Rhode Island. The Schmidt Labor Research Center is a tripartite, independent, multidisciplinary unit devoted to the study and teaching of all aspects of work and employment, including the practice of labor relations and human resources.
The SLRC is home to one of the foremost graduate programs in labor-management relations and human resources in the United States. We offer a Master of Science degree with a specialization in either labor relations or human resources.
