Export Control Decision Tree

Identifying what is export controlled equipment, technology, or software in a research project is the first step. As this determination is generally made by evaluating the specific items being used in a research project, it is important for the researcher to be involved with this decision. It involves a careful analysis of the Commerce Control List and/or the Munitions List. The Office of Sponsored Projects is available to provide help with this process. Any determination of export controlled equipment, technology, or software should be documented by the Office of Sponsored Projects.
