The Office of Research Development consists of a staff of professional proposal developers to help faculty in finding sources of funding and to assist in the preparation and review of proposals in all disciplines.

The major roles of the Office of Research Development are to assist faculty in finding sources of funding for their projects, and to provide support services to researchers in preparing proposals. Among the services and resources that this office can offer are:

  • A staff of professional proposal developers to help faculty in finding sources of funding and to assist in the preparation and review of proposals in all disciplines.

  • Up-to-date research information, funding sources, information, and forms.
  • An on-line computer search service, SPIN , to locate funding sources by keywords.

  • Information to alert the research community to new funding opportunities and funding initiatives.

  • An up-to-date database of faculty research and expertise. RESRCH-L, a URI Listserv discussion list for research-related topics.
