BIOL1310 Intro Biotech Laboratory Skills

Experiential learning is learning by actively practicing a new skill as opposed to passively listening to a lecture or memorizing from a book. Most students learn best when they have the opportunity to reinforce lecture and reading content through additional hands-on exposure to the material. Classes in the Biotechnology Certificate program at CCRI have both lectures and laboratory components to for exactly this reason. It allows students to take material learned from lecture and perform the tasks in a safe environment allowing them to understand the “why” behind the “how”.
