Academic Roadmap®
Studying away is not a realistic goal for students in the Biotechnology Certificate program - you are required to take all 6 courses at CCRI. There is the possibility, however, of taking courses outside of the college and applying them to an associate degree in science. The SCID degree program is intended for students who plan to pursue a career in a science related field and here students may use credits obtained from other universities to complete the degree requirements.
Students entering the Community College of Rhode Island who have satisfactorily completed collegiate level courses at other regionally accredited post-secondary institutions may have their courses evaluated by the Office of Enrollment Services at the College once their programs and goals have been established. Transcript evaluation takes an average of 4-6 weeks to complete. Students will be notified by mail once transcripts have been evaluated.
Please see the Transferring to CCRI Webpage for more information about receiving credit for course work done elsewhere.
