Wildlife rehabilitators work to rescue sick and abandoned wild animals and nurse them back to health for an eventual re-release into their natural environments.
As a wildlife rehabilitator you will examine and diagnose rescued animals. Animals will be provided with treatment and veterinary care. Rehabilitators will provide rescued animals with basic life needs as well as medical treatment. Sometimes an animal's recovery will involve various types of physical therapy and exercise.
Aside from working directly with wild animals, some rehabilitators participate in efforts to reduce negative human impact on wildlife.
Rehabilitators can be involved with various conservation efforts in addition to public education endeavors.
