Academic Roadmap®
The Animal and Veterinary Science Club (AVS Club) is a student-run organization that provides students interested in animal sciences with opportunities to gain experience working and volunteering in the field. The club has a network of students through which the upper class students provide incoming freshmen with advice, lessons, connections, and friendships.
In recent years, the AVS Club has participated in pet walks to raise money for local animal shelters, held Easter egg hunts at the university farm, hosted guest speakers, received certification in artificial insemination, and put on a pet first aid course for students. Many students from the club also compete each year in an intercollegiate livestock judging and quiz bowl competition.
