Discovery of knowledge is a primary goal of any university and in fact, of humankind. Regardless of your field, you should seek out opportunities to participate in an original research project while you are still a student to gain important skills and to learn more about the actual process of discovery. Research experiences often lead directly to job offers after graduation and to acceptance and financial support for competitive graduate programs.
The Medical Physics program includes several courses that allow students to conduct individual research projects. For students who enjoy this work, they should consider job opportunities in research labs in hospitals or in industry. Students should approach professors they wish to work with or academic advisors for information and guidance.
