This area is responsible for the day to day fire safety of all four campuses. This area covers all fire safety inspections for Dormitories, Fraternities and Sororities plus the Administrative, Academic and Service buildings on all campuses.

Fire Safety Facts

Fire Extinguishers:  All fire extinguishers are checked and monitored for compliance. An  outside contractor does the actual testing and refilling. The University has  in excess of eight hundred (800) fire extinguishers on the four (4)  campuses.
Sprinkler Systems:  All sprinkler systems and their components are the responsibility of the  Department. Testing is accompanied using an outside vendor through this  office on a quarterly basis.
Safety Complaints:  All safety complaints by staff and/or students are investigated and  resolved with the appropriate Department within the University. As  required, the controlling outside agency is notified.
Emergency Lighting /  Battery Backup  Systems:  All emergency lighting / battery backup systems are tested every 30  days, with an annual 90 minute test done by the University.
Emergency Generator  Systems:  All emergency generator systems are tested weekly by the University or  by automatic systems.
