Environmental Health and Safety: Hazardous Waste, Waste Minimization & Pollution Prevention

This section provides information on the correct methods of disposing of hazardous materials at the University of Rhode Island. It includes the URI Laboratory Waste Guidebook, hazardous waste pick-up forms, signs, and labels, regulatory information, fact sheets, and links to other sites. It also provides information on preventing waste in the laboratory. It is important to buy, use, store, and dispose of the minimum amount of hazardous materials. This will save the University money, minimize the risk of chemical exposure, and have the smallest impact on the environment. The section at the end provides more information on waste minimization, pollution prevention, and disposing of household hazardous waste.
