The industrial hygiene and fire safety area is under the supervision of the Coordinator of Industrial and Fire Safety.  This area is responsible for the day to day industrial hygiene and fire safety of all four campuses.   The area of industrial hygiene deals with such items as building odors, air quality, testing of materials, noise problems, radiation concerns and general exposure problems associated with building and equipment use.  This person also coordinates with outside agencies such as the RI Health Department, OSHA and DEM.  This position also directs the needs for personal protective equipment and the proper fitting and wearing of it. The department maintains a supply of personal protective equipment on hand  and is distributed  as  needed  to  the  various departments and employees on all campuses.
