Welcome to the Alpha Beta chapter of Sigma Delta Tau!

Sigma Delta Tau has a rich foundation of sisterhood and community since 1947, and the current sisters at URI are no exception. The sisters of SDT are very involved in campus life. We participate in varsity and intramural athletic teams, artistic clubs, religious organizations, as well as volunteer groups that help better our URI community such as Tour Guides and URI 101 Mentors. In addition SDT has members of various scholastic societies, as we find academics a main priority in college life. Any place you will find upstanding members of the community, you are bound to find a Sig Delt.

Sig Delts also love to have fun.  We host many events throughout the year for entertainment such as formals and socials, as well as our new favorite, Destination Unknown. SDT's national philanthropy is Prevent Child Abuse America. We are very proud to hold annual events such as Casino Night and SDT Bowl-A-Thon to benefit our National Philanthropy, Prevent Child Abuse America (PCAA). SDT is also very active in the Greek community participating in both Philanthropy Week and Greek Week. SDT has been Philanthropy Champions in fall of 2007 and 2008.  Also, last year in spring of 2009, we were Greek Week Champions for Best Sorority and came in 3rd overall. The sisterhood found at SDT is one of compassion, spirit, and love. Coming back to 14 Fraternity Circle is coming home to family. There is always someone to talk to, to go out with, or to stay in and watch a movie with.  No matter what, Sig Delts are always there for their sisters and the bonds we share will last a lifetime!
