Mission:

To enhance the integration of classroom and out-of-class educational experiences
To provide supportive programs and services to women, international students, commuters, older students and students with disabilities
To foster an educational climate which embraces diversity and values participation of all individuals irrespective of class, race, ethnicity, disability, gender, religion, age, and sexual orientation
To heighten awareness of disability issues and ensure the availability of accessible programs and facilities
To mobilize students, faculty and staff to address substance abuse in the community and to provide meaningful prevention activities to reduce the harmful effects of alcohol and other drugs
To work with students, staff and faculty to build a civil and safe community
To encourage adherence to community values described in URI CORNERSTONES by setting and maintaining clear behavioral standards
To nurture and encourage leadership among students
To empower students to participate in the University decision making process
