The Rhode Island Alumnae Chapter was recently established, and the members have already shown how much Sigma Kappa means to them. Sigma Kappa has given them laughs, memories and lifetime friends, but now they are giving back to Sigma Kappa what was given to them. Throughout this past year, the alumnae involvement has been very rewarding for both the alumnae and the collegiates.
One event included a study break for the sisters during their spring semester finals. The alumnae chapter provided a buffet dinner consisting of tacos, burritos, taco salad and a piñata filled with candy for dessert. The "Cinco de Mayo" celebration proved a great success and another study break was planned for the finals in December. This break consisted of a baked potato bar, dessert, and a "Pin the Nose on the Snowman." Once again, the alumnae and collegiates had a great time reminiscing, eating, and de-stressing. The alumnae and collegiates also had a Christmas decorating party to begin the holiday season with another night of music, laughs and good company.
The alumnae chapter also helped with rush this past September by assisting Vice President of Membership with her demanding responsibilities. Homecoming and Founders Day were also successful events this semester which the alumnae chapter got involved in.
