Minutes: November 12th
Hey Yous Guys!
So I don't know about you, but some of our members were able to go hiking in Arcadia (and accidentally end up in a high power riffle range!), scuba dive, go to the rock gym, and climb up Mt. Monadnock in NH! Some more good news is that the outing club is receiving a computer from the student senate. This will allow us to catalog our gear, type things, and send out emails.
Now down to business. We are making a calendar! Submit in your pictures for the backgrounds by November 19th at 5pm. Please do this sooner rather than later. We will vote on them at the Thanksgiving Vegetarian Potluck. As for the potluck, it will take place on November 20th in Eddy hall. Cooking will commence at 4:30pm and eating at 6pm. If you are planning on cooking in the kitchen, make sure you bring everything you need. The Eddy kitchen does not have ANYTHING! Well they do have a fridge, stove, oven, and sink, but that is it. Bring bowls, spoons, pots and pans. Whatever you need to cook.
This weekend we are going to be going on a day hike to Block Island. We are meeting outside Ronzio's at 10:15am and then driving down to the ferry. The ferry costs about $25. We will hike around the island for a while, hop back on the ferry at 5:15 and hopefully be back to campus by 6:45. This will be happening both Saturday and Sunday!
Random business:
There is a gingerbread house building competition going on between all the clubs. We will build ours on Tuesday November 25th starting at 5pm. The room in the union that this will take place in will be announced at a later time. Come give us some ideas and
help build!
We are going to be running some Cigar ads soon. We are going to be asking our members for a favorite memory, quote, and so forth to be put into the Cigar once a week. This will be accomplished through a survey that will be handed out next week. It is just a survey to tell us what you think, what you would like to see changed, and what you like. Just bring a pencil and your opinions.
FYI, we have about 18 punch passes left for the RIRG. Reminder, you can get only 1 per week.
Elections will be held on December 2nd. If you have questions let us know.
We are looking for a t-shirt and outing club logo design. If you have any ideas let us know. The outing club logo needs to be something easy to read. We would use this on the back of t-shirts, paper, and possibly stickers. We need to get this stuff in if we want t-shirts!
Last of all, we are going on a road trip on Saturday, November 22nd to Carabineers in MA. Carabineers is a large rock climbing gym. More info on this next week.
