Minutes: October 14th
Salut,
This week's meeting started off with a re cap of this past weekend's adventures. They included exploring the north woods, going through a haunted house, hiking, rock climbing at the RIRG, six flags, and backpacking up Mt. Greylock. Congrats to all for getting out there and doing something.
We set a lot of dates for trips this weeks so there they are:
Lincoln Wood's Adventure
o Led by Ben Berry!
o Saturday, November 25th
o A day full of bouldering, picnicking, hiking, and possibly hitting up the RIRG afterwards.
Block Island Trip
o Hike along the beaches, roads, and trails of Block Island!
o November 15th or 16th
Tri-Pond Park Extravaganza
o Led by Eric Carboni
o Friday, October 24th
o Hike around the local park just south on 138
Rock Climbing in Newport
o Friday, November 7th
o Top rope off of a local rock
o Hopefully not too difficult
Mt. Monadnock
o Drive up to NH Saturday night and do some car camping at the base of the mountain.
o Wake up, cook breakfast, take down camp, and then hike up a mountain!
o November 8th and 9th
Philanonymous is going to Mt. Monadnock this weekend if anyone is interested. This is the Philosophy club if you did not know. They have opened it up to anyone interested!
Volunteer at an Organic Farm
o Next weekend?
o Leave Friday afternoon, do some harvesting and what not. Camp over night and be back some time between 5 and 6pm Saturday evening.
We are also going to be slack lining on the quad on Wednesday at 3:30 again if anyone is interested. It is open to all!
An idea we had for fundraising this year was making a calendar. Just submit pictures for each month and a cover picture (total of 13 needed). We will have a panel of judges vote on them.
On November 20th there will be a Thanksgiving vegetarian potluck in eddy hall! All of invited. There is a room for us to eat and a kitchen if you plan to make something there. Cooking will start at 5pm and dinner will start at 6:30pm. We will have a sign up sheet for foods to bring (ie. Appetizers, entrιe's, desserts, and beverages) at the following meetings.
Next meeting will be November 21st at 5:30 in room 318 of the MU.
