Minutes: October 21st
Howdy folks,
We were able to cover a lot at this past meeting. A notice to those who went on the Greylock trip, please return your water purification tablets. Also, will all drivers who have not met up with me yet please contact me. I have a few questions.
We have decided to make a calendar as a fundraiser for the Outing Club. To do this, we need pictures for each month and one for the cover. If you have any pictures for outings we have done that you think would work well, please submit them by emailing them to urioutingclub@gmail.com. All pictures must be turned in by November 18th. A committee will vote them on.
Up coming trips!
• Tri-pond park with Erik Carboni
o Date changed to Thursday, October 30th
o They will leave at 4:30pm from Ronzios
• Lincoln Woods Adventure
o This Saturday the 25th, meet at 10am at Ronzios
o Bouldering, hiking, picnic and then some will be heading to RIRG afterwards
• Volunteer at an organic farm
o Saturday the 25th
o Valerie Sahakian is leading and will leave on RITPA from the union at 8:15am.
o Work from 10:30-1 or 2pm
• Rock climbing in Newport
o Ballary Park on Friday, November 7th
• Overnight Trip to Mt. Monadnock
Mandatory meeting next week at 6pm (right after our meeting)
o We will be going on November 8th and 9th
• Day Hike to Block Island
o November 15th and 16th
o There will be groups going on both days
• Slack Lining on the Quad
o Tomorrow, Wednesday at 3:30pm
We will be hosting a vegetarian Thanksgiving dinner on November 20th in Eddy hall. Everyone is invited and all we ask is that you sign up to bring a food item. We will start cooking at 5pm and dinner will start at 6:30.
We have been contacted by people saying that they have houses up north by mountains, lakes, and/or trails and that they would be willing to have a trip go up there. If this applies to you, feel free to organize a trip up there and let the club know. The sooner you organize it the better.
If anyone want to make a t-shirt design for an outing club t-shirt you can let us know. The sooner you get us the design the sooner we can make the t-shirts. FYI, if no one does this, then we probably wont have any t-shirts.
One last thing, at the end of this semester I am leaving to study abroad. We have decided to hold elections for all of the positions. To run for an office you must be an active member of the outing club, and you must also be an active member to vote for the officers. That's just about it.
