Meetings

Minutes: October 28th

Top of the morning! (or afternoon, or evening, or whenever you read this)

This week seemed to be an exceptionally active time. People went to a pumpkinfest in NH, bouldering, hiking, climbing, organic farming, and being chased by bees. Congrats to all who were able to get out!

Up coming trips:

-10/30 Erik Carboni is leading a trip this thursday to Tri-Pond Park. This is just a couple miles south of campus and they are leaving at 4:30 form Ronzio's in the MU. This trip is for those who want to "adventure, get lost, and be cool."

-11/2 Paige is leading a day hike to George Washington Management Trail. This will be an 8 mile hike and picnic. Please bring food for people to share. This trip is leaving at 9am on this coming Sunday morning. Keep in mind, that this is before the dining hall opens so get food saturday night for breakfast, and for the picnic. Also, you will NOT be allowed to go on this trip unless you wear orange. It is hunting season and it is mandatory that you wear orange.

-11/7 We are leading a trip to Newport, RI to go rock climbing. If you have never gone before, dont worry, we have enough gear for everyone and are ready and willing to teach you anything and everything you need to know. We will be leaving at 3pm from Ronzio's next Friday, November 7th.

-11/7 Fundraiser at the Foster Country Club. Corey's band "Blame it on Bob" will be playing from 7 to 12. This fundraiser is to benefit the Paine School PTG. This will raise money for field trips and a playground. So if you like a blend of classic and new rock with a hint of country on the side, supporting the local community, or just need something to do think about this!

-11/8 & 9 Mount Monadnock Trip.

-11/15 &16 Day hikes to Block Island. We will be having groups go on both Saturday and Sunday. Just take the bus down to the ferry and then take the ferry to Block Island. Then you can go on a hike around block island along the beaches and on some trails. Then hop back on the ferry and get back to campus. This trip is open to all! It is a fun trip and a nice break from campus life.

-11/20 Vegetarian Thanksgiving Potluck Dinner. This will take place in a conference room in Eddy and dinner will start at 6:30pm and if you need to cook something, we will be in the kitchen in Eddy around 5pm. Next week we will have a sign up sheet for everyone who is planning on attending to say what they will be bringing.

For a fundraiser idea, we are going to create a calendar. The backgrounds of each month will be a picture from a previous outing club trip. If you have any pictures of past trips that you would like to be part of the calendar, you can send pictures to this email address. All submitted pictures will be voted on at the vegetarian thanksgiving potluck dinner.

On wednesday we will be slack lining on the quad at 3:30pm. Everyone is invited, and I hope to see you all!

In case there is any confusion from the meeting, we WILL be having a meeting next week, same time same place. I hope that everyone gets out there and votes!

Talking about elections, we will be having our own elections at the end of the semester. All of the positions will be up for reelection. If you are interested in running for office and have questions feel free to contact any of the current officers.

Thats about it.

Catch you on the flip side!
