Hey you outing club goers!
This weekend went well even though there were torrential rains and all. Something about a hurricane, I don't know though, it must be an East Coast thing. But the Nor'easter event was much fun. Full of rain, climbing, rain, camping, rain, music, and more rain. Sorry Graeme you missed it. The Arcadia trip was canceled this week to do even more rain here.
Upcoming trips:
-Oct 5th, Sunday: Canoe trip with the wildlife society. It will leave sometime between 9 and 12. Final details will come on Thursday when the Wildlife society has their meeting. This will take place in the Wood River in RI.
-Since the Arcadia trip was canceled we were able to re-reserve the campsites for the nights of Oct 10th and 11th. This is part of Columbus day weekend. For this trip to occur we need A) Someone to lead it and B) people interested in going on it. Come to the meeting next week and show interest or we will cancel our reservations.
-Greylock. This is happening during Columbus day weekend. It will be a backpacking trip and we will hike up the highest point in MA. It will last for probably 2-3 nights. We had our meeting for it right aftwards and it seems like we have a good amount of people interested. Just a reminder to those of you at the meeting. Let us know asap if you are coming on the trip for sure. Just shoot us an email.
Things to buy: 3 person tents and a slack line. Sounds good? Let us know your opinion.
Talking about dues...pay them before you go on a trip. Thats about it. Pretty simple.
We need everyone to check themselves in at the meetings so we have attendance to show the senate. Our meeting with the senate is next Monday so with us luck.
There were people going climbing tonight and there are people going to the RIRG on thursday. List of people going on Thursday include but not limited to: Joe Attwater, Michael Bly, Bridget Griffith, Will Masse, Benjamin Berry, Megan Banner and I am sorry if I am forgetting anyone. Contact any of us if wanting to join/need a ride/want to learn how and have paid dues or will pay dues.
Thats about it for now. I hope everyone has a good week and weekend. If anyone needs gear for a trip you are going on just stop by the office during office hours.
A thing to note, Bridget will not be in the office on Wednesdays anymore.
I almost forgot! If you are interested in slack lining, Paige Houlihan will be setting up her slack line on Wednesday on the quad around 3:30pm. Feel free to stop by and say hi and try it out or even just find out what it is. It should be a lot of fun.
I'll see you on the flip side,
Michael Bly
