The Renewable Energy Club (REC) was founded in the fall of 2003 with the goal of erecting a commercial size wind turbine on URI's Kingston campus as a source of renewable energy. Two and a half years later, with over 120 student, faculty, and professional members, the club has diversified towards many other renewable interests, such as conservation, outreach, awareness, and solar energy.
As a club, we support any and every kind of renewable energy effort, on campus as well as off. We believe that a sustainable future is possible through awareness, outreach, inspiration, and hard work. We invite all, from the curious to impassioned, to join our cause.
Whether by accident or by choice, we're glad you have arrived at our site. Please take a look at the other pages detailing more of what we do and as always, feel free to contact us anytime with any and all questions/comments.
