Description: URI College Democrats empower students to increase civic participation, engagement and political awareness. We support the Democratic ideals of diversity, social justice, and equality for all. We maintain a commitment to community service and the work of bringing people together to solve difficult challenges in order to improve the quality of people's lives.
Our mission is to help elect Democrats, train and engage new generations of Democratic student activists, shape the Democratic Party with voices from America's youth, and become a political voice on issues that impact the future of America.

Other Information: This Spring and into the coming Fall 2013, we will work with other Colleges and Universities in RI to host the Rhode island Student Political Empowerment Conference, or RISPEC.
RISPEC is a bipartisan conference slated to train hundreds of students and activists in areas that will help them create real change by leveraging political skill and tact.

We will also work on local issues such as Marriage Equality legislation support networking and bring the student view and youth issues to the Democratic Party. Meetings are Mondays at 8:30 pm in room 352 of the Memorial Union for Spring 2013.
