Description: Brothers On a New Direction (B.O.N.D.) is a Brotherhood that recognizes the need for unity among young men of color. The men of B.O.N.D. pledge to help guide adolescent men of color towards personal growth, provide the tools for academic success, and lead by example. B.O.N.D. will utilize the skills of mentorship to empower young men with the knowledge that they hold the key to their futures, and in turn can become successful.
Our vision is for the future of the greater Providence area is a community where every young male has a positive male role model in their life. We would like to create a community where young males make positive choices towards a promising future. B.O.N.D. wants to help increase the numbers men from underrepresented backgrounds entering college, and create a support system throughout the time they are in the collegiate level to ensure success. We will achieve these goals and more by:
Maintaining a brotherhood of over 20 trained mentors
Creating partnerships with organizations that mirror our objectives
Working closely with those partnerships to create synergy through service
Keeping a well known presence in the greater Providence area
