Scholarships

The Photos/Files page has a document with scholarships for minority students of various disciplines, deadlines and eligibilities. Please take time to check it out and apply for those you qualify for. Also, the NSBE scholarships are still on going and most of them will end on the 16th of this month. You can apply (NSBE members)to these scholarships by logging into you page in NSBE On Line (NOL) and apply.

Research

There are a lot of research opportunities online which I implore you to check out at www.nsf.gov/crssprgm/reu/reu_search.cfm . It is important that you participate in at least one research during your college years. This is key not only for those who plan to eventually pursue a post graduate degree but for those who intend to get a job after your Bachelor's degree. These research opportunities are during the summer and most of them are paid. This is great for your professional development and a good resume builder.

Tutor Opportunities

The Academic Enhancement Center is looking for tutors. The only requirements are that:
1. You have a G.P.A of at least 3.0
2. Have taken and passed the class you intend to tutor
If you are interested, contact David Hayes, the Director of the Academic Enhancement Center at davidhayes@mail.uri.edu or www.uri.edu/aec or call 401-874-2953.
