The Summer Semester at the University of Rhode Island is a valuable academic resource, a way to get ahead or catch-up, as well as a great way to save on the cost of education over the course of a students academic career. For incoming freshmen, it allows for a way to get acclimated to university life without a crowd of other students.

URI Summer Semester 2010 has more than 500 course selections from African-American Studies to Writing, with offerings from every college of the University; including Business, Pharmacy, Engineering, and Nursing. Choose from two five-week sessions plus alternatives in one, two, three, six and ten-week formats, with daytime, evening, or weekend class meetings or take classes Online

Here are some highlights of the URI Summer Semester:

  • Open registration
  • Two 5-week Sessions
    • Session 1: May 26-June 29
    • Session 2: June 30-August 3
  • Courses offered in Kingston and Providence.
  • Courses are offered at a discounted rate compared to fall or spring semesters.
  • Housing is available for those who want to stay in Kingston letting you get credits while enjoying all that South County has to offer in the summer.
