Green Office Certification
The Green Office project is an initiative aimed at encouraging administrative and academic offices on campus to make day-to-day choices to operate in a "greener" way. The program provides offices with direction and tools to become a more sustainable working environment through simple action steps, and offering progressively challenging office goals.
Begin with getting individuals in your office interested and involved by starting a Green Team. Once the majority of your office is on board you can apply for Green Office Certification. To help get individuals in your office involved, use this Green Office Introduction presentation to help your colleagues understand the importance of having your offices certified
If you participate in the program and achieve a level of Green Office Certification, you will be able to promote your office as 1-, 2-, 3-, or 4-Star Green Office Certified. Your office will receive a certificate of achievement that will showcase your Green Office ranking and your office will be listed on the URI Sustainability website and featured in the employee newsletter URInformed. Having a certified Green Office demonstrates to others your commitment to campus sustainability, and celebrates your green accomplishments.
To begin the process of certifying your office as a Green Office, please register your Green Team. If your Green Team is ready for an audit, please complete the Green Office application form and a member of the staff of the Office of Sustainability will be in touch to schedule a visit to your office.
