School Matinee Program
Welcome to the URI/Theatre's 2009-2010 season at the University of Rhode Island. The acting ensemble at the University of Rhode Island is proud to present a widely exciting variety of theatrical experiences that you and your students are sure to enjoy. The URI Theatre Department is pleased to be the only institution of higher education in Rhode Island that offers special School Matinee performances to you and your students. We offer the following information to assist you in the decision-making process of which show(s) you and your students may be interested in attending and we guarantee you an amazing season. So come and join us in the magical world of theatre.
All special School Matinee performances begin promptly at 10 AM and the ticket price is $10.00. One free chaperone ticket per 20 students is also included in the group package.
We are happy to have study guides available for select shows. Please inquire about the guides when you make your reservation.
To make a reservation or acquire additional information, please contact Paula McGlasson, Theatre Department Chairperson at paulam@uri.edu or 874-2712. We ask that you make reservations as soon as possible as the School Matinees sell out quickly.
We are thrilled about this season's line up and are very much looking forward to sharing the experience of theatre with you and your students.
2009-2010 School Matinee Performance Dates
Add Lunch...
Ronzio's Pizza will be offering a "quick lunch" in the Theatre lobby immediately following each School Matinee. The lunch includes two slices of pizza and a drink at a cost of $4.00. Take it to go, enjoy it in our lobby, or picnic style on the front lawn. If your students would like to purchase a "quick lunch" please notify Bonnie 874-5922-bboz@uri.edu. Final head counts will be due one week prior to the play. Lunch money is collected by the school contact and is due at the box office on the morning of the play. The school contact is also responsible for providing students with a receipt that will be presented to the "quick lunch" staff. DO NOT combine lunch and ticket sales money. Please make any "quick lunch" checks payable to Ronzio's Pizza. Also, various snacks and beverages will be available in the lobby for $1.00.
