The university's transfer equivalency site is intended as a guide for prospective transfer students and as a prior approval tool for continuing students. All information contained in the database is still a work in progress. Please read the following information before you continue:
This information is provided as a guide to how classes at your current or former school may transfer to URI. The fact that a course appears in the list is no guarantee that the course will transfer in your individual case. Final determination of transfer credit acceptance is ultimately made by each Degree Granting College and Department Chairs. You must submit official transcripts of all completed coursework before a final determination can be made on credit transfer.
Our equivalency system is subject to frequent revision. The catalog dates for each institution reflect the latest revision date for transfer equivalencies from that school. We will be adding schools and additional courses to the list on a regular basis, particularly from schools which provide a large number of transfer students to URI.
If a course you wish to take is not found in the prior approval database, then you will need to fill out a prior approval form:

Bring the Prior Approval Form along with the course description of the classes you intend to take from another institution (these can most often be found on the college's web site) to the Chairperson of the department at URI. He or she will review the course description to be sure its comparable to a URI course, and approve your form accordingly. You must then bring the form to the Dean’s office for approval. Finally, be sure to have your official unopened transcript sent to your college from the other institution upon completion of the course, so it may be evaluated and posted to your academic record.
