The Future of Families: Flourishing or Floundering

We will use a problem-focused study of the future of families, taking an interdisciplinary approach to four major themes: 1. mate selection; 2. fertility and reproduction; 3. child rearing; and 4. the relationship of family members across generations. (S: GCH 104)

What is your particular area of focus/research within this field today?

Research interests focus on parent-child relationships in early adolescence, factors that promote success in the transition to high school, and the relationship of a sense of group belonging to positive adjustment.
