20 Questions

Index Cards
Pens or Pencils

Allows students to get to know each other while practicing their speaking skills. Encourage the group to have an open discussion and feel more comfortable with each other.

Distribute one index card to each student.  Instruct them to write down an interesting question to ask their classmates-could be funny or serious, but kept appropriate.  Once everyone has written down a question collect all the index cards, shuffle them and re-distribute them at random making sure that no one has the question that they wrote.  Go around the group having people introduce themselves and answer the question that is on their index card.  (You may want to ask what student asked the question and why)

Example questions:

If you could go anywhere in the world where would you go and why?
If you were one of the only two people left on earth who would you want the other person to be?
What is the most interesting thing that you have ever done?
What is your biggest fear about college?
