I am delighted to welcome you and invite you to our summer orientation program. The two-day program that we offer for first-year students and the one-day program for transfer students is intended to help you and your family to best prepare for a successful fall semester. We promise a fun and informative time.
During our orientation program you will have an opportunity to meet and work with new friends in your major, as well as your faculty academic advisor. You will actually select courses and register while you are here. We will also talk with you about ways to become involved on campus, we will introduce you to the many offices and services designed to support your academic and personal success, and we will provide fun and interactive sessions on the campus culture. You will get your student ID, your e-campus account information, and your parking, dining and housing information. Of course, there will also be plenty of time for socializing too.
Once orientation is over you can have a relaxing summer, knowing more of what to expect as September rolls around. We have a wonderful time planning these sessions for you and look forward to having you here with us, celebrating your new membership in the URI community.
Our student orientation leaders, staff and faculty look forward to seeing you in June.
Sincerely,
Jayne Richmond, Ph.D.
