Accommodations

Family Accommodations and Fees

Accommodations for family members are not included in orientation fees or family program fees. Below we hope to provide families with information about local accommodations, including reduced rates at some hotels and information about staying on campus for an additional fee.

As a reminder, new students will be staying in one of our residence halls for Orientation. Due to the schedule of events, students are not allowed to leave campus during the program, leave early, or stay in another place other than the designated program residence halls. Students coming from a far distance away may check-in the evening before and stay with other out-of-state students. On-Campus Accommodations

Reserve a room in Eddy Hall with rates of $40 per night, single occupancy, and $55 per night, double occupancy. Rooms are air-conditioned, arranged suite-style, which means you would have a private bedroom space, and a semi-private bathroom. Additional amenities include wireless internet connection, continental breakfast on Day 2 and an opportunity to experience first-hand one of URI’s residence halls. Please note: the overnight accommodation fee is payable directly to the Office of Housing and Residence Life and is due in advance (payment by credit card only) when you complete your online reservation. Room fees are separate from the $35 per person orientation program fee.

Local hotels

Holiday Inn: The Holiday Inn of South Kingstown, located approximately 3 miles from the URI campus, is offering rates of $99 per evening available Sunday through Thursday during June Orientation. To make reservations, please visit HERE or call 401-789-1051 and ask for the "University of Rhode Island (URI) Orientation" rate. A 20% discount is being offered for Friday and Saturday nights.

Hampton Inn: The Hampton Inn of South Kingstown, also located 5 miles from campus, is offering special discounted orientation rates -- $99 rate with a Hot Breakfast on Sunday through Thursday evenings and 20% off the published rate on Friday and Saturday evenings. Rates include breakfast!

The Stagecoach House Inn: Only 10 miles from campus on Rt. 138, offers a special rate of $95/night for River View Rooms. To make a reservation, call 888-814-9600 and ask for "URI Orientation" rate. AAA approved 3-diamonds. www.stagecoachhouse.com
