Courtney entered the Graduate School of Oceanography in 2006 to pursue a PhD. She became involved with GAU in 2007, and has remained active in both organizations. Courtney has held many positions: Member at Large (2007-2008), Vice President (2008-2011), and President (2011-present). In addition, she has represented GAU at two National Conferences. She earned a Masters of Science in Oceanography (2009) and is currently a PhD candidate.

Currently in his second year as a Masters Teaching Assistant at The University of Rhode Island, Peter Waite is the Vice-President of the Graduate Assistant’s Union and an active performer and composer in the local musical community. The recipient of music degrees from Schenectady College, Westfield University and The Berklee College of Music, he has acted as a guest lecturer and adjudicator on music theory and performance practice at multiple schools and music programs including The University of Rhode Island Community Music Program, Westfield University College for Kids, North Kingstown Highschool, The South Kingstown Performance Festival, and Frenchwoods Festival of the Performing Arts. Peter hopes to continue his studies at the doctoral level beginning the fall of 2012 as he works toward a career as a professor of music.

I am a 3rd year PhD student of Department of Environment and Natural Resource Economics. I am currently working on consumer behavior and local seafood marketing.

I am a native Rhode Islander. Obtained undergraduate degrees from the University of Rhode Island - majoring in Psychology and Philosophy. Juris Doctor from the University of Iowa College of Law. Currently, a master's student in Labor Relations and Human Resources, concentrating in Labor Relations, with an anticipated graduation date of May 19. 2012. I am a member of the URI Work-Life committee. I am a volunteer coach for BGYSA for both a co-ed U6 recreational team and boys U8 competitive team.

I'm a third year student in the Nutrition Department and this is my second year with the GAU. I am a teaching assistant for NFS337: Scientific Principles of Food II. I am a runner and a white water kayaker and I volunteer for a non-profit called The Student Leadership Training Program, training middle and high school students in leadership skills.
