2007-2008 Graduate Assistant Hall Director Openings

The Department of Housing and Residential Life at the University of Rhode Island anticipates ten Graduate Assistant Hall Director positions for the 2007-2008 academic year. Each will serve as immediate assistant to the chief live-in Hall Director, primarily addressing issues of staff and student development, student leadership, emergency response and basic residence hall coverage and availability. Each may be assigned special projects of a more centralized nature to assist the functions of the Department. This is a live-in Graduate Assistantship with assignment to a specific residence hall community or one or two buildings.

Compensation:
• Full time graduate student tuition for fall and spring semesters during the time of employment
• An apartment
• A 5 meal per week per semester meal package
• Basic cable
• Basic phone service
• Internet connection
• URI Health Insurance
• A stipend for a 10 month period.
• One year contract renewable for up to two years.
• Summer employment may be available.

Qualifications include:
1. Full-time graduate student, enrollment in the College Student Personal program at the University of Rhode Island preferred.
2. Residential Life experience in a college setting.
3. Excellent leadership, management, organizational, communication, and computer skills.
