2011 Global Road Achievement Award in Research
URITC researcher
Dr. Michael Greenfield has been named the recipient of the 2011 Global Road Achievement Award in Research by the International Road Federation. His research of asphalt on the molecular level is the subject of the video seen here. The video, which was produced by former URITC staff member John Peterson, also features Colin Franco from the Rhode Island Department of Transportation.
Greenfield is an Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering at URI. He joined the University in 2002 after working for Ford Motor Company as a researcher for six years.
About the Center
The URI Transportation Center was established in 1999 at the University of Rhode Island to conduct multidisciplinary education, research, technology transfer and outreach for surface transportation systems and advanced transportation infrastructure.

University Transportation Centers Program.
