Mike Lewis Named President of AASHTO
RIDOT Director Michael P. Lewis was recently elected president of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO). He will continue to lead RIDOT while serving the one-year term as president. Besides serving on the board of several local transportation organizations, Lewis is also involved in the SHRP II Oversight Committee of the Transportation Research Board (TRB) and the Executive Committee of the Northeast Corridor Commission (NEC).

About the Center
The URI Transportation Center was established in 1999 at the University of Rhode Island to conduct multidisciplinary education, research, technology transfer and outreach for surface transportation systems and advanced transportation infrastructure. The Center is supported by the US Department of Transportation through the University Transportation Centers Program.
