Summer Camps in Full Swing
The URITC’s summer programs for Rhode Island middle school and high school students are underway. The Summer Transportation Institute for middle school students aims to inspire participants to become the future transportation workforce during two 2-week sessions.

The Business Academy, Construction Academy, Engineering Academy, Green Design (landscape architecture) Academy and Maritime Freight Academy introduces high school students to more specific career paths in transportation in weekly sessions.

All of the URITC’s summer programs include hands-on activities, field trips, guest speakers and classroom projects.

About the Center
The URI Transportation Center was established in 1999 at the University of Rhode Island to conduct multidisciplinary education, research, technology transfer and outreach for surface transportation systems and advanced transportation infrastructure. The Center is supported by the US Department of Transportation through the University Transportation Centers Program.
