Wickford Junction Finalist for Award

The $24.9 million Wickford Junction Station & Garage Project is one of 10 finalists in the 2013 America’s Transportation Awards competition. The multi-modal transportation hub, including a new siding track, a parking garage, drop-off/pick-up area for cars and buses, bike parking, and car charging stations, was completed under budget.

About the Center
The URI Transportation Center was established in 1999 at the University of Rhode Island to conduct multidisciplinary education, research, technology transfer and outreach for surface transportation systems and advanced transportation infrastructure. The Center is supported by the US Department of Transportation through the University Transportation Centers Program.
