The URITC is looking for students interested in the transportation-related URI-UPRM Summer Internship Program at the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez. This program is sponsored by the Federal Highway Administration Dwight D. Eisenhower Fellowship Program, and aims to promote instruction and research in the transportation field.
The internship will consist of 7 - 8 weeks of research experience at the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez (beginning of June to the end of July). Undergraduate participants will receive a stipend of approximately $1,450/month, and graduate students will receive $1,700/month. In addition, housing and the round-trip airfare will be be covered.
Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 in an Engineering field. Knowledge of Spanish is beneficial, but not necessary. Students should be comfortable with living and experiencing a different cultural environment. An interest in transportation-related topics is preferable, but not necessary.
