General Information for Jumpstart URI

  • All majors welcome
  • Full academic year program (September-May)
  • Complete 300 hours of service (10-12 hours/week)
  • Earn an AmeriCorps Education Award of $1000 upon successful completion of the program
  • Earn 6 free elective credits in CSV 302 (graded)
  • Use awarded work-study funds (if applicable)
  • Jumpstart training provided prior to working in pre-schools
  • All non-returning Jumpstart Corps Members must enroll in the CSV 302 Jumpstart course

Ready to participate in the Jumpstart full-year program? Here are some "next steps"...

  • Attend a Jumpstart Info Session (for dates, times, and locations email jstartpv@etal.uri.edu)
  • Complete the Jumpstart Application (https://application.jstart.org/)
  • Select a team and determine your course schedule (see below)
  • Meet with Lynne in Roosevelt Hall Room 133 to complete all necessary paperwork

Jumpstart URI 2009-2010 program scheduling options:

  • You MUST choose one of the scheduling option below and be able to commit to the SAME option for BOTH Fall 2009 & Spring 2010 semesters

Option A:
Jumpstart Session: M/W 3:00-5:15pm
CSV 302 Class: T/Th 3:30-4:45pm

Option B:
Jumpstart Session: T/Th 12:15-2:30pm
CSV 302 Class: M/W 1:00-2:15pm

Option C:
Jumpstart Session: T/Th 3:00-5:15pm
CSV 302 Class: M/W 1:00-2:15pm

*permission number required to add CSV 302 to your schedule ~ meet with Jumpstart URI staff to learn more*
