Work Life - Committee
The URI Work-Life Committee includes a group of volunteer staff, faculty, and students who formed in 2003 due to the joint efforts of the URI NSF ADVANCE Institutional Transformation Program and the URI President’s Commission on the Status of Women. The Committee has remained very active, meeting several times each semester and over the summer. In addition to dedicated volunteer efforts, funding from the ADVANCE program and an Elsevier Foundation grant has enabled many successful initiatives to further the work-life mission.
Future directions. A part-time work-life specialist position in the Office of Human Resources has been approved to begin sometime during the next year. This person will work in collaboration with the Work-Life Committee.
